What is Governance?
Governance encompasses the system by which an organisation is controlled and operates, and the mechanisms by which it, and its people, are held to account. Ethics, risk management, compliance and administration are all elements of governance. It is the decisions and actions of those who run a school, country, city or business.
At a privately owned business level, governance is often overlooked, resulting in sub-optimal outcomes. In businesses where there are multiple owners or controlling entities, such as a family business, partnerships or formal collaborations, good governance will promote and enhance, allowing the group to outperform the sum of its parts.

The Anson Approach
Anson Advisory assists in developing and implementing governance principles and actions to develop fair and robust decision making-processes for operations with multiple owners who may struggle to agree at times. We help unite direction, promote fairness and remove decisions based on emotions, creating far stronger businesses.
How we do this is dependent upon each situation, but can involve implementing board structures, with the Anson Advisory facilitator adopting a ‘temporary chair-person role’ and simultaneously upskilling board members (business owners) in governance processes and systems, while addressing specific organisational issues. In this way we achieve multiple outcomes and work toward an exit for the Anson Advisory facilitator, allowing the group to continue far more effectively, productively and fairly than before.
